How we are funded
We earn nothing: no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored rows, and no money or free product from brands, shops or testing programs. So nothing you see here, from the figures to the order of the list, has been paid for.
Costs
Hosting, a domain name, an AI tool for the weekly check, and the editor’s time. The editor pays for all of it.
What decides what you see
The data and the maths. Never money.
- Which products are listed: products found on Australian shelves, a few at a time. No one can pay to be added or left out.
- The figures and marks: worked out by the build from the data files, with the maths on each page. No commercial deal feeds into them.
- The order: A–Z by brand, or by a figure such as cost per 100 mg. The “where it sits” line and the chooser use that same figure, never a commercial deal.
- The headline price: the lowest current recommended retail price (RRP), or regular shelf price, at any shop. Sale and member prices aren’t used.
Why it matters to you: a comparison is only useful if the thing compared isn’t for sale. You can check all four points against the published data.
If that ever changes
The most likely change is affiliate links, where a shop pays a small commission if you buy through a link. If we ever add them:
- every affiliate link will say “affiliate link” beside it, and any page with one will say so before the first link;
- the products listed, the figures, the marks, the order and the headline price will be the same with or without them;
- every shop we check will still be shown, whether or not it pays a commission;
- this page will say so, with the date.
We won’t take payment from a brand, shop or testing program for listing, placement, a mark or a review, or accept free product.
How you can check
All our data is in /products.json and /products.csv, so anyone can redo the maths. The JSON carries a fingerprint, data_hash, made before any affiliate link is attached. It will match with links on or off.
Reusing the data
The data is free to reuse under a Creative Commons Attribution licence. Credit us and link to the product pages: a mark copied without its working loses what makes it fair.
