Corrections and right of reply

If a figure here is wrong, we want to know, and the product page will show the fix. Here’s what to send and what happens next.

What to send

Email [email protected] with:

  • the product page address;
  • which figure you think is wrong, and what you think it is;
  • where your figure comes from: a photo of the pack, the ARTG public summary, the brand’s ingredient panel, or a test certificate.

A source we can open or see changes a figure. A claim on its own can’t, because every figure must point to where it came from.

What happens next

  • Within 2 business days: we reply to say we got your report.
  • Within 2 business days, if your source shows different figures: the product’s mark becomes “under review”, with the date, while we check.
  • Within 10 business days: we decide. If the figure was wrong, we correct it and work out the marks again. The product page and the updates page record the date, what changed and why. If it wasn’t wrong, we tell you why.

Corrections are never silent. The earlier figure stays visible in the correction record.

Before a new mark goes live

Before a new “stated mg above maths” or “below maths” mark goes live, we email the brand our working. Then we wait seven days for a reply. This applies to figures from the brand’s page, the pack or the ARTG public summary. Until then the product shows a grey “under review” mark and both figures, but not whether they agree. Its page gives the dates, such as “Brand contacted 27 Oct 2026; reply invited by 3 Nov 2026”.

We consider every reply. If the brand sends a source that settles the figures, the mark may never appear.

If you are the brand

You can ask for a short factual reply, up to 100 words, beside the working on the product page. Keep it to the figures, such as which figure the product is made and tested to. We don’t publish health claims, because we make none.

The fastest way to change a mark is a clear photo of the current pack. If the formula has changed, tell us when, and we’ll record both versions.

What we won’t do

  • Remove an accurate figure or mark because someone asks.
  • Change anything for payment, product or a commercial deal.
  • Describe a brand’s intentions. We report whether figures agree and show the working. We don’t say why they differ.

Formal notices

Send formal legal notices, including a concerns notice under the Defamation Act, to the same address. Put “Formal notice” in the subject line. It’s read ahead of anything else, normally the day it arrives.

Corrections so far
