How much of the compound is magnesium
Only part of each compound is magnesium. Here’s that share for each one. Some compounds come in several versions, for example with water in the crystals. Each version has its own share.
- Magnesium glycinate: 14.1 % magnesiumThis name covers more than one version, and the brand’s product page doesn’t say which. We use our standard one.
Our maths
The brand’s product page gives the magnesium only. With no compound weight, there’s nothing to multiply, so we can’t check it. For reference, here’s how much compound would carry the stated magnesium:
350 mg of magnesium takes about 2,482 mg of magnesium glycinate
Show the chemistry
350 mg ÷ 0.141 ≈ 2,482 mg compoundVersion used: magnesium glycinate (same salt as bisglycinate) (Mg(C2H4NO2)2, molar mass 172.42 g/mol), share 0.141. reference (opens in a new tab)
Other versions: magnesium glycinate dihydrate 0.1166.
Do the figures agree?
can’t check: no compound weight
We can’t tell: there’s only one figure. The brand’s product page gives 350 mg of magnesium per serve, but not the weight of the compound it comes from. So there’s nothing to check it against. This is common, and it isn’t a mark against the product. Why it matters to you: the cost per 100 mg still works. It rests on the stated figure alone.
Third-party testing
no testing claim found
No testing claim or certificate on the brand’s product page. That’s true of most products here, and it isn’t a mark against this one. The TGA doesn’t check each product before it goes on sale. If batch testing matters to you, ask the brand.
Our note: Neither the brand’s page nor the Blooms The Chemist listing mentions testing (both read 27 Oct 2026). A general look for HASTA (Human and Supplement Testing Australia) or Informed Sport listings or certificates found none; we haven’t yet looked by brand name.
Prices, and what the magnesium costs
Prices are the recommended retail price (RRP), or the regular shelf price where no RRP is shown. Sale and member prices aren’t used, so you may pay less.
Price used: Regular price $39.99 · 180 g · Blooms The Chemist · 27 Oct 2026.
$39.99 ÷ 30 serves = $1.33 a scoop$1.33 ÷ 350 mg × 100 = $0.38 per 100 mg of magnesiumWe use the stated magnesium, not our maths, because that’s the figure you’re given. The price used is the lowest current RRP or regular price we’ve seen, at any shop. The list starts with the lowest current cost per 100 mg; earlier prices follow. Rows marked “Earlier observation (price type not recorded)” were seen up to 27 Oct 2026, before we switched to RRP. Some were sale prices. They stay here, greyed, as history, and no figure uses them.

Notes
Each 6 g scoop also gives 200 mg of vitamin C, in berry or citrus flavour, says the brand’s page. The Blooms The Chemist listing shows ‘Pharmacy medicine’ and ‘requires a prescription’ notices that look like site-wide text.
Corrections
- 27 Oct 2026: Label source changed from the Blooms The Chemist listing (Blooms The Chemist listing, 180 g (opens in a new tab)) to the brand's own product page (Nutra-Life product page (opens in a new tab)), read 27 Oct 2026; a brand's page ranks above a retailer listing. Figures unchanged: magnesium 350 mg per 6 g scoop; no glycinate weight stated. Compound wording changed from 'Magnesium glycinate equiv. Magnesium 350 mg' to the brand page's 'Magnesium glycinate Equiv. Magnesium 350mg'.
